New da Vinci Surgical Systems, offer patients more options for minimally invasive surgeries
Mercy has acquired three new da Vinci® Surgical Systems, further advancing the technology available to Mercy surgery patients and replacing some large-incision surgeries with a minimally invasive approach. Read more.
Robotic surgery, or robot-assisted surgery, is a type of minimally invasive surgery performed through tiny incisions. Surgeons are able to perform a variety of complex procedures with more precision, control and accurate alignment than is possible with traditional surgical techniques.
Patients experience a number of benefits compared to open surgery, including:
- Fewer complications, such as surgical site infection
- Less pain and blood loss
- Quicker recovery
- Smaller, less noticeable scars
Mercy is proud to offer patients two different advanced options in robotic surgery. Learn more about da Vinci robotic surgery for a variety of surgical procedures, including Prostatectomy and Hysterectomy. And, the Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery for patients undergoing partial knee and total hip replacement surgery.
