Programs
Aftercare Group
The purpose is to allow those who have successfully completed a Sedlacek treatment program to continue with regular support through peer-guided meetings. There is no cost to attend these meetings. If you have successfully completed a treatment program at another facility and are interested in Sedlacek’s Aftercare Group, please contact our office at (319) 398-6226 to schedule a meeting with our clinical manager to help determine if the group will meet your recovery needs.
Substance Use Assessments
Provided to anyone seeking a professional opinion regarding their drug or alcohol use, substance use assessments take approximately 90 minutes (including time for paperwork). A professional referral is not required to schedule or complete a substance use assessment. Assessments are available by calling the Sedlacek Treatment Center Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to schedule an appointment.
The assessment process can identify the severity of the substance use and determine what level of care would be appropriate for treatment. If a recommendation for treatment is made for a service that we do not provide at our outpatient facility, Sedlacek staff are able to make a referral to a facility that provides the recommended level of care.
Please note that assessment results and recommendations will be provided within 7 to 10 business days from the date that the assessment took place. If an individual requires an assessment by a specified date, please plan accordingly to allow for processing and completion. It is recommended to complete an assessment a minimum of two weeks before the documentation is needed.
Legal Assessments (OWI/Public Intoxication/Possession)
Substance use assessments for court-ordered cases, such as OWI/Public Intoxication/Possession charges, are available at Sedlacek Treatment Center. If an individual has legal charges and is interested in beginning a treatment program, a substance use assessment may be scheduled by calling the Sedlacek Treatment Center Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Education Program
After assessments have been completed by our staff, a client may benefit from substance abuse education. Substance abuse education groups meet three times a week for an hour-long session. If recommended for the Education Program, an individual will need to attend six sessions in sequence order and meet other program criteria to successfully complete the program.
