Substance use disorder is a progressive illness that will only get worse if left untreated. Seeking help means the beginning of recovery, and recovery can mean a new and healthy lifestyle.
For 50 years, Mercy Medical Center's Sedlacek Treatment Center has served adolescents and adults within the community with alcohol and/or drug disorders. No one has more experience or compassion than our staff at Sedlacek.
At the Sedlacek Treatment Center, individuals battling substance use disorder can expect:
- The highest level of confidentiality
- Small group sizes
- Free family involvement
Sedlacek Treatment Center is licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health, Division of Substance Abuse.

Family Group
(Mondays 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.)
At Sedlacek, we believe that having family involvement during treatment is extremely beneficial to all. We offer a Family Group weekly to provide this support to friends and families of those battling addiction. This free educational support group is designed to address topics of substance use and its influence on those we love and on our own well-being. All are welcome. No registration required.
