Dance Physical Therapy
Physical Therapist Rebecca Strabala, PT, DPT
Rebecca has a BA in dance from the University of Iowa. She is an experienced dancer trained in many forms of dance, including: ballet, modern dance, jazz, tap, contemporary and musical theatre, in addition to dance team experience.
She became interested in dance rehabilitation after sustaining an injury and going through physical therapy herself.
It's important for medical professionals like physical therapists to have a true understanding of the demands that dance places on the body, as well as be able to speak the language of dance.

Therapy & Treatment Plan
At the first appointment, Rebecca performs a detailed examination of the injured dancer, including evaluation of musculoskeletal injuries as well as range of motion, strength and balance. Upon completion of the evaluation, Rebecca designs a personalized treatment plan to address the deficits she finds during the examination. Her strong dance background allows her to customize the treatment plan to address dance-specific movements.
