1-on-1 Meetings
The Family Caregivers Center offers one-on-one meetings where caregivers can talk to a trained volunteer or staff about their specific caregiving situation.
During a one-on-one meeting, the volunteer or staff member:

- Provides emotional support
- Helps determine the caregiver’s strengths and current needs
- Provides education about chronic conditions
- Answers questions
- Assists with completing applications for assistance
- Explains why caregivers need breaks, as well as options available
- Helps make connections with community resources
- Discusses options when more or different help is needed
- Provides ideas to ease transitions
- Helps the caregiver determine a plan and next steps
- Suggests meaningful activities for the person being assisted
- Facilitates communication with family members
- Describes what Center resources, support, and events are available for caregivers and care receivers
