Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak (CSF)
Cerebrospinal Fluid Leak (CSF) can result from temporal bone trauma, previous surgery, or even spontaneously. Complications to the patient if it is left untreated may include infection (meningitis), hearing loss, seizures or even death. Early diagnosis is critical; work up will include imaging such as a CT scan and MRI of the ear and brain. Surgery is the primary form of treatment.
