Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT)
Video Head Impulse Testing (vHIT) is completed using a pair of video goggles that track movements of the eyes as the head is rotated. The clinician will ask the patient to focus on a target on the wall as he or she moves the patient’s head. The vHIT goggles track small movements of the eyes that may be difficult to detect by the clinician. The vHIT is a quick assessment that provides information that is clinically useful in determining if vestibular dysfunction is present and may be completed on both adults and children.
