Mercy EAP recognizes that, in our increasingly complex society, a wide range of challenges – not purely medical and not necessarily job-related – adversely affect job performance at all levels of responsibility.
An Employee Assistance Program is designed to assist employees and their families with problems that are affecting their job performance and/or their personal lives.
This goal is achieved by offering assessment, short-term counseling and/or referral and follow-up services.
Mercy EAP can assist with:
- Individual counseling
- Family therapy
- Relationship counseling
- Bereavement/grief counseling
- Behavioral management counseling and parenting classes
- ADHD evaluation and treatment
- Psychological, neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral testing
- Coordination of medical treatment with family physician
- Play therapy
- Workshops/presentations
- Consultation with other professionals
- Collaboration with schools, physicians and community agencies to assure consistent and cooperative treatment
- Child Psychological Services (2 and up)
EAP services are for those problems that can be addressed in brief, solution-focused therapy. It is not intended to address acute or chronic conditions.
Who is eligible for EAP services?
All employees and their immediate family members.
How much do I have to pay for this service?
There is NO COST to the client accessing EAP services. (There are problems that may be identified in an EAP session that require referral to other providers. The cost of these services is NOT covered by EAP. The client is responsible for these fees.)

Call your EAP at (319) 398-6575.
The intake worker may ask for some brief demographic information from each caller. She will help to identify the best site for you and arrange an appointment.
Who are the providers?
We have several experienced and professional counselors in Cedar Rapids. Affiliate providers are available for off-site employees. All providers are licensed mental health professionals. View a list of current providers (designated by an asterisk)
