Exceptional care, superior outcomes through a unique partnership
Mercy Medical Center opened the first outpatient dialysis program in the area 35 years ago.
Today, Mercy Dialysis is a partnership between Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids and U.S. Renal Care, the third-largest dialysis provider in the United States. Together, this partnership provides local continuity and trusted providers, coupled with U.S. Renal Care’s extensive network and expertise, access to clinical education resources and experience across the spectrum of kidney care, including transplantation. This partnership provides the best of both worlds; a unique and exceptional experience for our patients.
Mercy Dialysis provides acute and chronic hemodialysis, as well as continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
Life-saving dialysis procedures are often intermediate steps for patients awaiting kidney transplant surgery. Each patient's care is planned by a team that includes physicians, nurse specialists, social workers and dietitians.
Mercy Dialysis offers three convenient locations for dialysis:
- Mercy Health Plaza features 33 outpatient dialysis stations.
- Mercy Medical Center has 8 stations for inpatients who are hospitalized at Mercy.
- Mercy's Vinton Dialysis Center is a satellite unit with 5 outpatient dialysis stations.
