Mercy Cedar Rapids to host career fair in partnership with IowaWORKS

Mercy Cedar Rapids is hosting a career fair from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, at the Jewel & Jim Plumb Heart Center at Mercy. The event is open to all positions with special emphasis on radiology techs, ARRTs, certified medical assistants, registered nurses and phlebotomy techs.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, an average of 1.8 million job openings are projected each year in healthcare occupations through 2032 due to employment growth and the need to replace workers leaving these positions.

The career fair at Mercy will give potential applicants a chance to learn about job openings and pose questions to Mercy’s talent acquisition team.

“We rely on our staff to provide exceptional healthcare with The Mercy Touch,” said Alanna Barker, Manager, Talent Acquisition. “Events like the career fair, as well as our ongoing Talent Tuesday events, offer a convenient option for job-seekers to learn more about a career at Mercy.”

IowaWORKS will also be on-site prior to the event to help potential applicants with résumés, interview skills and other application tasks to work toward their vision for the most sustainable, future-ready workforce in the nation.
