Mercy Cedar Rapids earns highest recognition in state for digital excellence
Mercy is Iowa’s only hospital to earn a Level 9 award for use of healthcare technology
Mercy Medical Center has been awarded 2024 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition as a certified Level 9 (out of 10) organization – making it the highest-ranking hospital in Iowa – for the use of healthcare technology in its acute and ambulatory care delivery. This is the 17th time since 2006 that Mercy has received Most Wired recognition.
Notably, Mercy was the only Iowa hospital recognized as a Level 9 award winner for both acute and ambulatory care.
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) Digital Health Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively healthcare organizations adopt and integrate advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.
Among the more than 48,000 organizations surveyed by CHIME, Mercy ranked above peers in categories such as analytics and data management; population health; infrastructure; and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration, and influence of technologies in healthcare organizations at all stages of development – from early development to industry-leading.
“We are extremely proud of both our IT team and our hospital care delivery team for their ability to deliver nationally recognized, award-winning clinical care for our patients across the organization,” said Jeff Cash, senior vice president and Mercy’s chief information officer. “We feel fortunate that our investments in these advanced technologies are improving patient care, quality and access to patient data.”
