MercyCare Community Physicians opens doors to new Monticello clinic
Ribbon-cutting scheduled for Oct. 16
MercyCare Community Physicians (MCCP) opened the doors to its new Monticello medical clinic this week. To mark the opening, a private ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Oct. 16 and presented on the MercyCare Monticello Facebook page as a Facebook Live event.
The new clinic, located at 225 Welter Drive, is just two miles from the former clinic, providing convenient patient access right off of Highway 151.
In addition to its convenient location, MercyCare officials say the state-of-the art clinic includes lab and imaging services; two medical providers; extended hours of care, including opening weekdays at 7 a.m.; and plans for additional outreach services in the near future.
“We’ve been looking forward to providing the Monticello community with this beautiful, new healthcare facility to serve their needs for years to come,” said Greg DeWolf, vice president of clinic operations at MercyCare. “We are working on plans to provide additional services to the community with this brand-new facility.”
“We are excited about serving existing patients in our new facility, as well as welcoming new patients,” added Sue Schlarmann, MercyCare director of physician relations and clinic operations. “For the convenience of patients, we will continue to open at 7 a.m. weekdays and are able to accommodate same-day appointments, as well as walk-ins. We also look forward to continuing to provide occupational health services to local businesses, including: evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries; employee and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals; diagnostic screenings; drug screenings; and more.”
MercyCare Monticello will be staffed full-time by Dr. Stephen Runde, who brings more than 25 years of experience in occupational health and family practice to the community, as well as Physician Assistant Barbara Cree, who has been practicing since 1995.
The clinic is equipped with the latest medical technology and utilizes Mercy’s electronic medical record, Epic, allowing for seamless coordination between Mercy’s doctors, nurses, therapists and other healthcare providers.
