Mercy Medical Center Partners with U.S. Renal Care for Dialysis Care and Services
Mercy Medical Center is pleased to announce its partnership with U.S. Renal Care to enhance and grow the dialysis care that Mercy provides to its community.
U.S. Renal Care, a leading provider of dialysis services for patients living with kidney disease, is the third-largest dialysis provider in the U.S. and operates more than 339 outpatient, home and specialty dialysis programs across 31 states. By sharing best practices, Mercy, in partnership with U.S. Renal Care, can build upon its already high-quality, CMS 5-star-rated care while accessing leading-edge information and resources from a nationwide network of experts.
Dr. Fadi Yacoub and Dr. Anwar Ahmed will remain in their leadership positions at Mercy, continuing to provide quality, direct patient care, as they have in the past. Mercy’s staff and management will remain in place, as well.
“Our local continuity and long-standing reputation, coupled with U.S. Renal Care’s extensive network and expertise, will provide a unique and exceptional experience for our patients,” said Dr. Yacoub, Medical Director, Mercy Dialysis, “Mercy looks forward to the evolution of our dialysis program and the benefits it will provide to patients who have entrusted us with their kidney care for 35 years.”
Mary Dittrich, MD, FASN, and chief medical officer of U.S. Renal Care, echoed Dr. Yacoub’s sentiments. She said, “U.S. Renal Care and Mercy have a shared commitment to clinical excellence and quality patient experience. Partnering with renowned physicians like Dr. Yacoub and Dr. Ahmed is a great benefit to our network as we all work to constantly evolve our clinical best-practices across the entire spectrum of kidney care.”
“We welcome the entire Mercy team to U.S. Renal Care,” said Mark Caputo, U.S. Renal Care chairman and CEO. “Mercy already has a national reputation for the highest standard of quality patient care. We look forward to building on their strengths and supporting their growth in the state of Iowa.”
The partnership will begin July 1 and operate under the name, Mercy Dialysis.
