MercyCare Community Physicians breaks ground on new Monticello clinic
MercyCare Community Physicians (MCCP) will break ground on a new medical clinic in Monticello on Friday, Oct. 4. When completed, the new facility will replace the existing MercyCare Monticello clinic. MercyCare providers plan to begin seeing patients there next summer.
The new clinic, located at 220 Welter Drive, is just two miles from the existing clinic, providing convenient patient access right off Highway 151.
In addition to its convenient location, MercyCare officials say the state-of-the art clinic will include lab and imaging services, two full-time providers and extended hours of care, opening weekdays at 7 a.m.
“We look forward to providing the Monticello community with a beautiful, new healthcare facility to serve their needs for years to come,” said Greg DeWolf, Vice President of Clinic Operations at MercyCare. “We are pleased to be able to provide additional services and extended hours to the community with the brand-new facility.”
MercyCare Monticello will be staffed full-time by Dr. Stephen Runde and Physician Assistant Barbara Cree.
“We are excited to announce that Dr. Runde will transition to full-time in Monticello in January 2020, along with Barb Cree, who has been serving patients at the clinic for the past three years,” said Sue Schlarmann, Director of Physician Relations and Clinic Operations. “With our expansion of provider coverage, we welcome new patients, as well as walk-ins for acute care. We look forward to providing The Mercy Touch to all those we serve.”
The clinic will be equipped with the latest medical technology and will utilize Mercy’s electronic medical record, Epic, allowing for seamless coordination between Mercy’s doctors, nurses, therapists and other healthcare providers.
