Mercy’s 2018 Quality Report highlights enduring commitment to quality healthcare
Mercy Medical Center has released its 2018 Quality Report, An Enduring Commitment to Quality Healthcare. The report is designed as a user-friendly document containing clinical outcomes and safety initiatives at Mercy Medical Center and MercyCare Community Physicians. This unique report serves as an indicator to business leaders and our community, and a clear source of valuable information for consumers as they make important healthcare decisions.
The compilation and sharing of data in the report demonstrates Mercy’s dedication to transparency. By proactively tracking cost, quality and safety measures, the community has meaningful facts to help evaluate Mercy as a leader in innovative, high-quality healthcare at a superior value. The report also serves as a comparison guide with other hospitals at the local, state and national levels.
An overarching theme of the 2018 Quality Report is Mercy’s continued success in navigating the changing landscape of today’s healthcare environment by embracing the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Quadruple Aim. The report is presented around the Quadruple Aim’s four focal points: improving the patient experience of care, improving the clinician’s experience of care, improving the health of populations, and reducing the per capita cost of healthcare.
In 2012, Mercy was the first, and only, hospital in the area to begin publishing an annual public report of safety and quality data. Read Mercy’s 2018 Quality Report at www.mercycare.org/qualityreport.
