Julie Crockett joins Mercy Medical Center as new Foundation president
Julie Crockett
Following an extensive national search, Julie Crockett has joined Mercy as president of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation. Crockett began her role as Mercy’s fifth Foundation president on July 5, succeeding Sue Hawn, who retired in March.
“I am honored and excited to join such an exceptional organization,” said Crockett. “As hospitals continue to confront the financial challenges of an ever-changing healthcare landscape, philanthropic support becomes even more important in permitting Mercy to continue to carry out its mission. I’m looking forward to building relationships and helping Mercy meet the needs of our patients and our community.”
Most recently, Julie served as the vice president of advancement at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Prior to that, she was the vice president for University Relations for 11 years at Regis University in Denver, Colorado, where she managed all fundraising, alumni engagement and communications/community outreach operations. Crockett’s previous fundraising leadership roles include director of major gifts at Regis University, director of annual giving at the Colorado School of Mines, and director of college advancement at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of Iowa and a Masters of Nonprofit Management degree from Regis University. She is a Cedar Falls native.
