Especially for You Race Against Breast Cancer is on!

With the flooding events of this week, we want to reassure all those who have registered or are planning to participate, that the Especially for You® (EFY) Race Against Breast Cancer will be held as scheduled on Sunday, Oct. 9 at Mercy Medical Center.

As the Cedar River recedes, Mercy services and all campus facilities remain fully operational and roads around the hospital are beginning to open. Mercy was not impacted by floodwaters.

EFY Race organizers are currently working with the City of Cedar Rapids to identify possible modifications to the race route. Any route changes will be communicated as soon as the information is available.

Individuals can register for the race online through Wednesday, Oct. 5, at www.especiallyforyourace.org. After Oct. 5, registration can be completed in-person at the EFY office in Mercy’s Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.

Packet pickup is next week and remains as initially scheduled:

• Oct. 5: Large teams (greater than 50) - team captain will be contacted
• Oct. 6: Non-logo & logo teams - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mercy parking lot between 7th and 8th St. & 4th and 5th Ave. SE
• Oct. 7: Individuals - 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Hall-Perrine Cancer Center (HPCC) Community Room A
• Oct. 8: Individuals - 8 to 11 a.m., HPCC Lobby
