Mercy Birthplace & NICU awarded grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity
Mercy Medical Center has received a $30,000 grant from Variety – the Children’s Charity to purchase a Puffin™ Infant Resuscitator Transport Incubator.
The incubator is used to safely transport an infant when the child is moved between areas in the hospital, such as radiology. The new incubator has the respiratory support and temperature regulations necessary for Mercy’s NICU population.
“This new equipment offers our NICU families further confidence and security in knowing their children are being cared for with state-of-the-art equipment,” said Linda Klein, director of Mercy Birthplace, Pediatrics and NICU. “We always strive to be responsive to the changing needs of children, mothers, and their families. Support from Variety – the Children’s Charity has helped Mercy continue to provide high-quality care for our patient population.”
The Variety grant will also help Mercy purchase child-friendly movies for siblings to utilize while visiting the Birthplace and NICU, as well as craft supplies.
