Mercy named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven
Mercy Medical Center has once again been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Truven Health Analytics, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. Mercy is the only hospital in the Cedar Rapids area to be named a Top 100 Hospital this year.
The Truven Top 100 Hospital designation is a prestigious industry award, which cannot be purchased. The award evaluates nearly 3,000 hospitals and recognizes the top 100 that have achieved excellence in patient outcomes, patient safety, treatment standards, patient satisfaction, efficiency and financial stability.
To conduct the 100 Top Hospitals study, Truven Health uses public information — Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) data, and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare website – to develop an independent and objective assessment.
The Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals® study has been conducted annually since 1993.
