Jennifer joined Mercy in 2010. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2008 and the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business in 2014. She has work experience in both community and inpatient clinical pharmacy practice. She serves on the Iowa Pharmacy Association Legislative Advisory Committee and is a current member of ASHP. Jennifer is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and coordinates APPE general hospital and ambulatory care student rotations. Jennifer manages the Mercy Anticoagulation Clinic, Hall-Perrine Cancer Center Pharmacy, Hospice Pharmacy Services, Memory Care Clinic Pharmacy Services and the Outpatient/Employee Pharmacy.
Brandy Greene, PharmD, BCPS
Residency Program Coordinator & Clinical Pharmacist
Brandy joined Mercy in 2019. She received her BA in General Sciences from the University of Northern Iowa in 2000 and her PharmD from Drake University in 2005. She has experience in a variety of inpatient settings including critical care, oncology, and orthopedics. Brandy has served on numerous interdisciplinary committees, provided an annual presentation on medication safety, and is a former PGY-1 Residency Program Director. Her primary area of practice at Mercy is Hospice. Brandy is a member of ASHP and an adjunct faculty member for the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Jamie S. Sinclair, MS, RPh, FASHP, FMSHP
Director, Pharmacy Services
Jamie joined Mercy in 2013. She is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) and the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy (MS). She completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis (now Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare). Jamie has held health-system pharmacy leadership positions for over 20 years in community-based and large hospitals. During her career, she has positioned pharmacists in roles to improve patient care through the expansion of services, and developed intern and technician models to support care provision through clinical and operational excellence. Jamie has been active in professional pharmacy societies throughout her career. She has served ASHP in many capacities, including: Committee on Nominations, Commission on Affiliate Relations-Chair, and the Pharmacy Practice Council. Jamie served on the ASHP Board of Directors for the 2020-2023 term. Jamie is a past treasurer and president of the Minnesota Society of Health-System Pharmacists and is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Jess Anderson, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Jess joined Mercy Medical Center in July of 2016. He received his BS in Biology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2011 and his PharmD from Creighton University in 2016. For the majority of his undergraduate studies and throughout the entirety of his time in pharmacy school, Jess worked as an inpatient pharmacy technician and intern for a total of seven years at Methodist Hospital of Omaha. His primary area of practice at hire with Mercy was in the central pharmacy, with a transition soon after to the Pulmonary Medicine unit. From there, he took a primary position in Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, where he practices in a strong inter-departmentally focused environment, working closely with oncologists, infusion nurses, the research group and many other departments located in the cancer center.
Megan Bernabe, PharmD, MPH, BCPS, BCIDP
Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases Clinical Pharmacist
Megan joined Mercy in 2013. She received a BA in biology from Grinnell College in 2008, graduated from the University of Iowa with her PharmD and MPH in 2012, and then completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, KS. She has practiced in various inpatient areas while at Mercy and, in November 2016, transitioned to the Antimicrobial Stewardship/Infectious Diseases clinical pharmacist position and is primary preceptor for the ID rotation. She is co-chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee at Mercy, completed the MAD-ID (Making a Difference in Infectious Diseases) Antimicrobial Stewardship Training Program, an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa, and a member of ASHP, MAD-ID, and SIDP (Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists).
Lindsey Bohr, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Lindsey joined the Mercy Medical Center team in 2010. She graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2009. Upon graduation, she went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Iowa City VA Health Care System (ICVAHCS). At Mercy, she works primarily in the Mercy Anticoagulation Clinic (MAC) and the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center (HPCC). Lindsey is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
Alice Callahan, PharmD, MPH, MS
Clinical Pharmacy Manager
Alice joined Mercy in 2022 as the Clinical Pharmacy Manager. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy in 2020 and completed a 2-year Health System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership (HSPAL) pharmacy residency at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN. She additionally has earned two Master’s degrees in Public Health and another in Social and Administrative Pharmacy from the University of Minnesota, and is Epic Willow Inpatient certified. She has been active with local and national pharmacy associations, most recently as an ASHP Iowa delegate in 2023 through the Iowa Pharmacy Association, as a member of an advisory group in the Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders, and as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy coordinating APPE/IPPE hospital rotations. Alice’s practice areas include clinical pharmacy advancement, formulary management, medication safety, drug shortages, and pharmacy informatics. She is the primary preceptor for the Practice Management and Leadership rotation at Mercy Medical Center.
Rebecca DeKlotz PharmD, BCCCP
Clinical Pharmacist
Becky rejoined Mercy Medical Center in 2009. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2000. Becky received her Board Certification in Critical Care Pharmacy (BCCCP) in July 2017. She was a Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) for two 5-year terms (2013 and 2019), and is highly involved with Parenteral Nutrition processes in the pharmacy department. She is a member of ASPEN (American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition) and SCCM (Society of Critical Care Medicine). Becky is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy. She has worked in every inpatient setting at Mercy and is the primary preceptor for the Intensive Care Center rotation.
Caitlin Forness, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Caitlin joined the Mercy Medical Center team in August of 2016. She graduated from University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2014 with a PharmD. After graduating, she completed a PGY1 residency at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, as well as a PGY2 residency in Cardiology at University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her primary area of practice at Mercy is the Cardiac and Stroke Center, in which she serves as the primary preceptor. Her secondary practice area is in the Emergency Department. In addition, she is involved with ASHP and ACCP organizations.
Elizabeth Kinney, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Liz graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2016 and joined the Mercy Medical Center team July 2016 as one of Mercy’s first PGY1 Residents. After completing her residency, Liz decided to continue her career at Mercy as a Clinical Pharmacist working primarily on the inpatient Cardiac and Stroke Center floor. Her secondary areas of practice include Hall-Perrine Cancer Center and the Mercy Anticoagulation Clinic (MAC). Liz received her board certification in pharmacotherapy (BCPS) in July 2019. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa and a member of ASHP.
Christine Griffith, RPh
Clinical Pharmacist
Christine joined Mercy in 2003. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Iowa (BS Pharm). Her career includes four years of managing an independent clinic pharmacy, five years of part-time retail and hospital practice at Mercy to date. Since 2006, she has served as the Hospice Clinical Pharmacist and implemented multiple quality improvement initiatives as well as ongoing staff education. She consults for the Palliative Care Team, the Geriatrics team and Hallmar. Major contributions outside the department include the pain management blackbelt project and the system-wide medication reconciliation project. Christine has joined the Memory Clinic in service to our Dementia population.
Jillien Hankewich, RPh, BCEMP
Clinical Pharmacist
Jillien graduated from the University of Alberta with a BSc (Pharm) and has been a hospital pharmacist for more than 30 years. She has worked in a variety of settings, including regional and teaching hospitals with specialty areas in Oncology, NICU and, most recently, ED. She is starting her 19th year at Mercy Medical Center and received her BCEMP in 2023. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and precepts both IPPE and APPE student. She is member of ASHP.
Katy Klinefelter, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Katy joined Mercy in 2016. She graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa with her PharmD and MPH in 2015. She then went on to complete a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Her primary area of practice is Pediatrics/NICU/Birthplace and Intensive Care, and she is the primary preceptor for the corresponding residency rotation. Her secondary practice area is in the Emergency Department. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and precepts both IPPE and APPE students. She is a member of IPA, ASHP, ACCP, and PPAG. Other practice interests include Infectious Disease and Emergency Medicine.
Claire Gutta, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Claire joined the Mercy Medical Center team in October of 2019. She graduated from University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2018 with a PharmD. After graduating, she completed a PGY1 acute care residency at Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her primary area of practice at Mercy is the Surgical Oncology Inpatient Center, in which she serves as a preceptor. In addition, she leads the Preceptor Development Committe for the residency program and is involved with ASHP and ACCP organizations. Other practice interests include Infectious Disease and Critical Care.
Carolyn Pluff, PharmD, MBA, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Carolyn graduated from Drake University in 2021 and completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Mercy Medical Center in 2022. Upon completion of her residency, Carolyn decided to continue her career at Mercy and accepted a Clinical Pharmacist position. Carolyn's primary area of focus is the Pulmonary Medicine unit, where she serves as the primary preceptor for the Internal Medicine rotation. Carolyn's secondary area of practice includes Hospice of Mercy.
Jake Van Oort, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Jake joined the Mercy team in 2022. He graduated with a BA in biochemistry from Coe College in 2018 and received his PharmD from the University of Iowa in 2022. He completed a PGY1 residency at Mercy and stayed on as a Clinical Pharmacist after residency. His primary area of focus is Emergency Medicine and has also spent time working and precepting in the intensive care unit and the anticoagulation clinic.
Jennifer Williams, PharmD, BCPS
Clinical Pharmacist
Jennifer joined Mercy in 2015. In 2007, she received a BA in French with Chemistry minor from Harding University in Arkansas and graduated in 2012 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with her PharmD. In 2018, Jennifer completed ASHP's Teaching Certificate program, and in 2019 she obtained her BCPS credentialing from BPS. Her work experience includes working as a clinical pharmacist at a non-profit hospital in northeast Arkansas, before moving back to her hometown of Cedar Rapids. Her primary area of practice is Mercy’s inpatient Surgical/Oncology unit, with her secondary area at Mercy’s Hall-Perrine Cancer Center. Jennifer is a member of ASHP, an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, and has interests in parenteral nutrition, oncology pharmacy and patient/medication safety.
Kathleen Wilson, PharmD
Clinical Pharmacist
Kathleen joined the Mercy Medical Center team in 2016. She graduated from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 2015, and upon graduation, completed a PGY1 residency at the Northeast Iowa Medical Education Foundation in Waterloo. During residency she earned her teaching certificate through the PEPPR Program (Pharmacy Educator Preparation Program for Residents and Fellows). Kathleen is a full-time pharmacist in the Emergency Department and co-precepts the elective Emergency Medicine rotation.
