Jill C.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), MercyCare Clinics
When the practice that Jill, CMA, previously worked for joined MercyCare, Jill became a MercyCare employee by chance. Nearly 30 years later, she’s still a MercyCare employee. Now supporting Dr. Booth at MercyCare Vernon Vilalge, Jill feels supported not only by the physician she supports, but also by the entire team. And, she enjoys providing support to other staff members, as well.
“I have done this job for many years, and many of our newer staff members will ask my advice on how to handle certain situations,” Jill said. “The doctor values my opinion and will ask what my thoughts are on a patient before he enters the room so he is prepared when he sees the patient.”
Jill enjoys being a MercyCare employee and noted the benefits were great and her hours fit her lifestyle well. But, it’s her team that means the most to her.
“One thing that stands out with our pod at MercyCare Vernon Village is I laugh every day,” Jill said. “That doesn’t seem like much, but it makes it worth coming to work every day. It means a lot to have a great working relationship with my team and doctor.”
The purpose Jill finds in her work, as well as the variety in her days, is also very fulfilling for her.
“No day is the same as the previous day,” she said. “I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families. Many years ago, I was taught that you treat your patient like they are a family member. That is something I think of often while caring for others. It gives you a whole different perspective if you are caring for your mother, brother or sister.”
